What you will learn

  • Explore Human-Robotics Interfaces

  • Connect Embedded Systems through IoT

  • Learn Neural Computing Concepts

  • Analyze Cognitive Data and use it for Robotic Control

Synthesizing the realms of neuroscience, electrophysiology, human-computer interaction, and robotics, a pioneering collaborative venture emerges as the culmination of Jahanikia NeuroLab and GyroPalm's amalgamation. This trailblazing initiative ingeniously aims to furnish upper division high school and college students with an all-encompassing STEM learning experience. By bridging the gaps between these multifaceted disciplines, the collaborative effort stands poised to deliver an unparalleled educational odyssey.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide research students with a holistic understanding of the underlying scientific principles behind neurosciences, neuroimaging and electrophysiological signals such as fMRI, EEG, fNIRS, rTMS, Brain-Computer Interface (BCI), etc. Equally important, the program aims to equip participants with practical skills to use real-time data from neuroscientific findings to control robotics and devices in a significant, impactful way through gesture control, IoT, MQTT, REST API, etc. HuRo-B1 is a visionary project that merges theoretical understanding with hands-on, practical training, introducing the research students to the fascinating world of brain-machine interfaces.

Our HuRo-B1 program is a unique offering and flexibly provides hybrid learning through in-person workshops for those able to attend and live-streamed sessions for online participants. Occurring every two weeks, our Neuroscience-Robotics workshops are designed to be engaging, dynamic, and deeply enriching. Each workshop is anticipated to span 2 hours. Students will be guided throughout this program by industry experts Sahar Jahanikia, founder of Jahanikia NeuroLab, and Dominick Lee, founder of GyroPalm. As part of this program, research students will be provided with hardware materials and components needed to effectively explore the related topics in the course.

Immersed in an unwavering commitment to cultivating enduring proficiencies, our comprehensive competency-based curriculum serves as the cornerstone of our educational paradigm. Our steadfast mission is to furnish research students with far more than a mere accumulation of knowledge; rather, we aim to empower them with the capacity to seamlessly apply this knowledge within the intricate tapestry of real-world contexts. Firmly convinced that witnessing the transformation of abstract concepts into tangible manifestations through the realm of robotics evokes an indelible impression upon learners, we endeavor to foster profound comprehension and fortify their problem-solving prowess when faced with real-world challenges.

While students are expected to have a basic understanding of sensors and data collection, our program will accommodate learners from varying backgrounds. Guided by the stalwart leadership of our esteemed instructors hailing from the distinguished realms of Jahanikia NeuroLab and GyroPalm, students embarking upon this captivating educational journey are poised to experience an unparalleled level of mentorship. These consummate experts, bearing profound insights and expertise in their respective domains, stand ready to navigate students through the labyrinthine intricacies of this fascinating realm of knowledge. With their unwavering support, research students are destined to explore and unravel the frontiers of learning in an unrivaled and transformative manner.

We envision the outcomes of this unique collaboration to be transformative, as we expose research students to the cutting edge of neuroscience and technology. This collaboration not only empowers research students with unique skills but also inspires them to continue exploring and innovating in these fields.
